What are Kindred Mugs?
Kindred Mugs are a collection of handmade, hand-painted, and hand-dipped ceramic mugs designed to celebrate real-life connection — whether that’s a slow morning alone, coffee with a friend, or catching up with someone you love. Each mug is made to bring people together.
Are all Kindred Mugs handmade?
Yes, every Kindred Mug is carefully handmade by artisans in Vietnam using traditional techniques. No factory lines, no shortcuts — just honest craftsmanship and heart in every piece.
What does “hand-dipped glaze” mean?
Our mugs are dipped by hand into glaze baths, allowing for organic flow and texture. This gives each mug a beautiful, natural
finish — often resembling the way relationships evolve imperfect, layered, and rich with character.
Are Kindred Mugs food safe?
Yes, all of our materials are non-toxic, lead-free, and completely food safe. They’re made to be part of your daily rituals.
Can I use my Kindred Mug in the microwave or dishwasher?
Yes, our mugs are microwave and dishwasher safe. That said, hand washing is encouraged to preserve their unique glazes and extend their life — like any good relationship, a little extra care goes a long way.
How much liquid does a Kindred Mug hold?
The small beaker holds 195ml. A large beaker holds 300ml. The medium mug holds 260ml and the large mug is 360ml.
Are these mugs good for both hot and cold drinks?
Absolutely. Whether it’s a cozy winter chai or an iced summer brew, Kindred Mugs are made to hold your favourite drinks through every season. We always recommend taking care with hot drinks particularly our handleless beakers.
Why are they called “Kindred” Mugs?
We believe in everyday objects that connect us — to ourselves, to others, and to the moments that matter. “Kindred” speaks to the soul-level familiarity of those moments, Kindred spirits: a shared laugh, a thoughtful pause, a deep conversation over coffee. These mugs are made for that.
Do you take custom orders?
Unfortunately, we don’t at the moment, but it might be something for the future.
Where are Kindred Mugs designed?
We, Archie and Amelie, design every piece in the UK. We’ve both studied art and enjoy creating.
What if my mug arrives damaged?
We carefully pack each mug, but if yours arrives damaged, please email us within 48 hours of delivery with a photo and order
number. We’ll send a replacement or issue a refund.
Are the colours shown on the website true to life?
We’ve photographed each Kindred Mug in both natural light and studio settings to capture its true character. That said, each mug is hand-dipped and hand-painted — meaning slight variations in colour, tone, and brushwork are part of what make them special. This is the beauty of handmade: no two are ever quite the same.
How will my order be packed?
Your set of two Kindred Mugs will be carefully packed in a sturdy, beautifully designed, plastic-free cardboard box — ready for gifting or safe delivery. We don’t use filler or excess packaging. Please reuse or recycle the box with care.
How will my order be delivered?
Orders are delivered via Royal Mail or courier. Once your order is on its way, you’ll receive email and SMS updates with tracking details — as long as you provide your contact information at checkout.
Where is my order?
After placing your order, you’ll receive an email confirmation. Once your order ships, you’ll get another email with a tracking
link.
Standard delivery takes up to 5 working days, though sometimes delays may occur that are outside of our control.
For urgent orders, we offer Next Day Delivery (for orders placed Monday–Thursday before 1pm). Orders placed after 1pm Thursday will arrive on the next working day (usually Monday).
Can I upgrade to faster delivery after ordering?
Unfortunately, once your order is placed, we can’t make changes to it — including switching to faster delivery. If speed is
important, we recommend selecting Next Business Day Delivery at checkout.
How do I change my delivery address?
Once you’ve completed your order, we can’t update your delivery address directly. However, once the parcel is with the courier, they may allow you to make changes via the tracking link provided by SMS or email.
Can I amend or cancel my order?
Once your order is placed, it’s sent straight to our warehouse to begin processing — which means we can’t amend or cancel it manually. If you’ve changed your mind, simply return any unwanted items using the form included in your package.

How do I return something?
If you’d like to return part or all of your order, just use the returns form enclosed in your package. For more details, visit our returns page.
We kindly ask that items are returned in their original, unused condition.
